I moved to San Diego in the summer of 1979. I had an amazing senior year at Poway High School. The kids were very welcoming and I quickly adapted to the Southern California lifestyle. Schools are a lot different here--there are no hallways. They're made up of individual buildings with classrooms. I started San Diego State University in the fall of 1980. I graduated in 1985 with a degree in Journalism. I worked as a waitress and tour guide until I found my real job in Atlanta working for CNN. I started as a video journalist (VJ) and eventually passed the editor test. The money wasn't great but I loved it and learned so much in my three and a half years there. I guess I loved San Diego more though so I returned when I was hired to be an Editor at the CBS affiliate, KFMB-TV. I started September 1989 and I'm still there today. I still enjoy going to work every day. I pitched the idea to unearth our old video and film treasures buried in the vault. News 8 Throwback was launched July 2018 as a weekly feature. It is my passion and I don't think I ever want to retire.
I am married to a Waukegan native! He moved away when I was two and he was six. His oldest brother stayed and went to high school with my brothers. Pure coincidence/small world thing. We married in 2005 and live in Rancho Bernardo with our seventeen year old cat Maya.

I love hiking in the local mountains and beach areas. I like to explore my own state and have made recent trips to Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe, and Monterey. I belong to a very special barre studio in my neighborhood. I try to keep up with the much younger gals and do alright. I still enjoy boogie boarding in the ocean but don't do it as often as I would like to.

I'm really excited to see you all again. It doesn't matter how many years have passed--could it really be 40!? We will always have that special bond that we don't share with many others. We grew up together--played in the same parks, swam in the same pools, had the same teachers, went to the same movie theaters, and partied at Commonwealth--had to throw that one in. We are the class of 80.
