A Little About Me
What have I been up to since high school?
I worked and retired from the federal government after 40 years. I lived in D.C. for around 20+ years. I worked at the headquarters of the National Credit Union Administration. I was one of the first women in the U.S. working as a federal examiner after graduating from college. I traveled around the U.S. for 40 years. I also worked as a commissioned federal bank examiner for FDIC. I also had interesting part time jobs which included running the safe at Six Flags. Notable accomplishments include hosting federal meetings for the Chairman of the agency which were attended by the U.S. Treasurer, Hillary Clinton, and senators/representatives. In addition, the Multi National Corps-Iraq command located in Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom) flew a flag in my honor on November 10, 2006, in recognition of my volunteer work performed in D.C. I am married to a wonderful man. He is a retired Chicago teacher. We live in a home located in a forest in Barrington. I take care of two cute poodles.
What I do for fun, adventure, or relaxation
I enjoy camping; gardening; boating; riding rollercoasters; and visiting family and friends. In 2021, I won the Grand Champion gardening award for Lake County. We just caught two four pound catfish in Fox River. I rode all of the rollercoasters at Six Flags.
A Personal Message for my Classmates
9-11 impacted my view on life since I was located near the Pentagon when it was hit. Remember to enjoy life; don't worry about little things; and nothing (other than family) is important.
I also invite my other classmates to write to me at npadilla2010@yahoo.com. Since I worked in D.C. so long, I miss maintaining my friendships in Illinois.
